In the dry desert of Far West Texas, fire is a concern, and camping regulations are there to protect the public and the land. Open campfires may not be allowed. Be prepared--please check fire regulations at your destination campsite before you travel!
Pets are welcome in the national and state parks, but please consider that bringing your pet may limit your activities. Pets may not be allowed on trails or in the backcountry. Plan ahead--check the information regarding pets on your destination's website!
