The Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center and Botanical Gardens in Fort Davis has a mining exhibit including artifacts from the filming of this movie.

The Hotel Paisano in Marfa was the headquarters for filming this James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson classic. Exhibits devoted to the film are on display at the hotel and the Marfa and Presidio County Museum.
The Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine has an exhibit on Hollywood's depiction of the region. Check it out!
In the silent movie era, Fort Davis (now the Fort Davis National Historic Site) was considered a possible location for a movie studio. The Overland Trail Museum has a photograph of silent film star, Jack Hoxie, who tried to develop the studio. Read more here.
