El Paso

Fort Davis

The adobe Indian Lodge in Davis Mountains State Park was constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps to resemble a Southwestern Native American style, multi-level pueblo. The 1883 territorial style Veranda Historic Inn offers lodging with unique architecture features including two-foot thick adobe walls. Marathon
Made with adobe bricks fashioned on site, Alfred Gage opened this Trost and Trost-designed hotel in 1927, and The Gage quickly became a gathering place for many ranchers and miners of the area. The renovated hotel is a frequent stop for visitors on their way to Big Bend National Park. www.gagehotel.com
Van Horn
After a full year of restoration, the Trost and Trost-designed Hotel El Capitan is welcoming guests again. First opened in 1930, the hotel was was one of five in the Gateway Hotel chain in west Texas and eastern New Mexico. It was a cattleman's hotel for its first 40 years; ranchers from all over the area bought and sold cattle in business meetings held in the lobby. Today, it graciously serves visitors to Guadalupe Mountains National Park and other regional attractions, and travelers heading east or west on I-10. www.hotelelcapitan.net
