Opening on May 22, 2010, Faith and Devotion: At Home with the Saints focuses on personal and private devotional practices.
The exhibit will showcase the newly acquired Betty Byerley collection of Mexican retablos and ex-votos, which are small religious paintings on tin. Photographs of Big Bend grutas and the Curtis Tunnell Corona collection, from the museum's permanent collection, will also be on display. In addition, a private collection of santos, prayer candles and other objects, the majority of which have been in or have come from homes of Mexicans and Mexican Americans, will help to tell the story of what can be found in a worshipful Catholic home setting.
